planning

during my prelimanary task i took various images for my school magazine, i was thinking of themes that i could use for the front cover and i took an image of the head girl reading a book for performing arts university which ties in with the title of my magazine which i picked perform out of all my possible titles, because it was the most commonly chosen one from my piers, and because i liked the title.
on my front cover i thought of things i could write on the front cover.
i took a few more pictures that i used on the contents page of all different curricular activities such as the football team winning the match, and an arts student doing his work and a teacher teaching his lesson. and majority have been mentioned on the front cover.

For my music magazine i used examples and ideas from some well known rock magazines seeing i was going to use rock as my theme i wanted to see what was appropriate for convensional and typical rock magazine. I took parts of Kerrang, nme and rock sound magazine and combined it to create my own magazine with a twist for the front cover i used one main image to show that my magazine is based on this one image(band).
i also chose 3 main colours for my magazine which are Grey, Red and Black, i applied this colour scheme through out all of my pages which are my Front Cover, Contents Page and my Double Page Spread.
This was applied to make it conventional such as Kerrang, NME and Rock Sound.

these are a couple of images i put into my magazine.

this is brendon smith, hes 17 years of age, he lives in camden, london.
the way he is dressed is pretty formal for a typical indie emo look, he is wearing a black waistcoat and a red t-shirt underneath skinny stripy trousers with a belt, on his waistcoat he has a brouch.
his hair is black and pretty long for a guy he has bangs which is a typical emo haircut.
he likes rock music and prefrebly bands such as: panic at the disco, fall out boy, escape the fate.
he buys most of songs on either itunes or hmv. He also likes to buy his clothing from places such as topman, river island men, blue and baron jon, h&m for men, holister, marks & spencers, paul and bear, abercoumbie and fitch.
i think my ideal reader of my magazine will be in the ages  of 15 - aprox 27 or more depending wether they like the typical rock bands mentioned in my magazine. i know many people who are of the older age which do listen to the typical popular rock bands such as mettalica, guns and roses, so it could be aimed at the older audience if i manage to send a message forward that my band is a classical rock band.
taking from this you can tell that my magazine is most likely to be a rock magazine but i am still thinking of doing a mixed magazine which includes hip-hop, indie, heavy metal, so on and so forth.
so the magazine could be targeted to many people such as people who like knowing about alot of different types of music, the general music papers.
